Cicadas in Rockland: Seen Them Yet?

One eagle-eyed in New City shared his first spotting on Patch this morning. Here's what other folks in Rockland are reporting:

Kim Raso Stewart: "They are all over Upper Nyack but I have not seen one here in Upper Grandview."

Marybeth Walpole Shanley: "My friends front lawn was covered last week. She is in Palisades. Several out and about in Blauvelt, too."

Pamela Long: "They are here in Upper Grandview."

Flora Moghadam: "Saw a few in Nyack."

Mark Newman: "Piermont by Sparkill Creek first sighting now. My experience so far is that they are kind of dumb, poorly educated, like they have lived underground 17 years. They don't know what a computer is! I just tried to help one fly and it gave me this goofy bugeyed look and fell through the grass."

Susan Ziegler Quintana: "Not yet, hoping what we had in Valley Cottage a couple years ago was it, but probably no such luck."

Kaete Nazaroff: "Tons in Upper Nyack."

Larayne Carucci Peterson: "I'm in Valley Cottage. They are all over the tree right in front of the house. They are on the deck an somehow live one in the house."

Jane Thomas Malone: "Nothing here in West Nyack!"

Laureen Motto Gallo: "LOTS AND LOTS in Upper Nyack. Some in Valley Cottage say they have none... The sound is getting louder and louder."
