TZ Alum Places in Grueling Bronx Race

The 'College Sports Notebook' column runs several times each week. Please send items of interest—including local athletes competing at out-of-town colleges—to marcmaturo@aol.com.

Tappan Zee HS alum Nathan Kotch was Manhattan College’s top finisher, placing 28th in 28:25.37 in the men’s 8,000-meter run at the Fordham Fiasco, contested over a heavily muddy course at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. The Jaspers are back in action on Sept. 28 at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, PA.

Competition starts at 10 a.m.

I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.
