Tappan Zee Beats Pearl River in Volley for the Cure

Tappan Zee needed four sets to defeat Pearl River, 3-1, in the teams' annual Volley for the Cure match Friday at Pearl River.

Meghan Smith and Christina Hennessy each registered eight kills and Rachel Maggiore had 27 assists as Tappan Zee won by scores of 26-24, 25-17, 17-25, 25-18.

Both teams work pink, working together to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. In addition to taking donations, they sold raffle tickets and held a bake sale. The players and coaches handed out roses to women who have had breast cancer before the varsity match.
