Top seed Tappan Zee's home playoff game against No. 8 Somers has been postponed until Friday along with most Section 1 contests Thursday.
Section 1 announced the cancellation of all post-season events scheduled for Thursday except for tennis, which is being played indoors at Sound Shore Tennis Club.
The biggest adjustment is softball, which had outbracket games scheduled for Thursday, with the winners of those contests going on to play in the first round Friday at the sites of the higher-seeded teams.
Now the outbracket games will be moved to sites of the first-round games Friday. Those preliminary contests will be played first, with the winners playing in the first round game later in the afternoon. For example, in Class A, No. 19 Byram Hills and No. 14 Albertus Magnus will now play Friday at Tappan Zee. The winner of that game will stay to play against No. 3 seed Tappan Zee at 5:30 p.m.
The postponements had no impact on the Nyack softball team's first-round game at Brewster Friday.
The Class C Track and Field Championships were rescheduled for Tuesday, May 28 at 4 p.m. at Valhalla.
The boys lacrosse championships at White Plains aid girls lacrosse finals at Mammaroneck have been moved to Friday with the same game times.
The baseball sectional quarterfinal games scheduled for Thursday have been moved to Friday. The semifinal games are still set for Saturday at the higher seed.
