Coach Julius D’Agostino, “one of the most beloved coaches in history of Pearl River sports,” lauds local historian and legendary former athletic director Tom Doherty—passed away 20 years ago from cancer after nearly 30 years at Pearl River HS in various capacities. Over the past two decades, thousands of dollars in scholarships have been awarded to Pearl River student-athletes from the proceeds of the tournament named in his honor.

The cost is $150 per person for the event, which features a scramble format and concludes with dinner at the Pearl River Elks Club on Elks Drive in Nanuet. Dinner only is available at $55 per person.

Donations are welcome, and sponsorships are being offered at $150 for the cocktail hour, $250 for dinner, and $400 for the beverage cart.

Tee-off is set for noon, with many prizes offered including longest drive (two holes), closest to the pin (three holes), and a leased car for the hole-in-one contest.

D’Agostino is a member of the Pearl River HS and Rockland County Sports halls of fame, and while noted for his outstanding wrestling teams, also coached baseball, golf and football.

For further information contact D'Agostino's son, Doug D’Agostino, at 845-735-2732, Gibby Sweet at 845-558-7571, or Pearl River HS athletic director Todd Santabarbara at 845-620-3943.

Please make checks payable to “Coach Dag Memorial Scholarship Fund,” and mail to Pearl River Athletic Department, 275 East Central Avenue, Pearl River, NY 10965. Please add the golfer’s name, and email address where applicable.
