Local high school sports begin this week.
The first Tappan Zee varsity event of the winter season is a bowling match against East Ramapo 3:30 p.m. today at new City Bowl.
Both of Nyack's varsity basketball teams take the court Tuesday.

- Bowling: Tappan Zee vs. Pearl River at New City Lanes, 3:30 p.m.
- Boys basketball: Nyack at Cornwall in Warwick Tournament, 7 p.m.
- Girls basketball: East Ramapo at Nyack, 4:15 p.m.
- Girls basketball: Nyack at North Rockland, 5 p.m.
- Boys basketball: Tappan Zee at North Rockland, 6 p.m.
- Boys basketball: Nyack at Warwick Valley, time to be determined
- Boys swimming: Nyack at Keio, 4:30 p.m.
- Ice hockey: Pearl River vs. Nyack-TZ, 5:45 p.m. at Palisades Ice Center
- Girls basketball: Albertus Magnus at Tappan Zee, 6 p.m.
- Boys basketball: Nyack in Bronxville Tournament, TBD
- Girls basketball: Nyack at North Rockland Tournament, TBD
- Ice hockey: Tappan Zee vs. Sleepy Hollow at Westchester Skating Academy, 7:10 p.m.
