The Rockland Road Runners will host its 25th Annual Women's Distance Festival at Rockland Lake State Park. This yearly run is the sole "women's only" event of its kind in Rockland County. The run/walk is held on a 3.1 mile course and begins at 8:00am. A free Children's Fun Run for boys and girls 11 and under will open up the festivities at 7:30am. The race fee, for those who register before July 10th, is $18 for Rockland Road Runnners and $20 for non-members. After that, and on race day, the fee is $25. All proceeds from the race are donated to the Rockland Family Shelter, a local non-profit agency dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault.
