In an exciting rivalry volleyball game South came out on top after dropping the first two sets to North. The Vikings also picked up a victory in boy’s soccer as they upset the top seeded Yorktown Huskers in double overtime.

The Clarkstown South football season officially ended as the Vikings were blown out by John Jay 25-7.

Yesterday’s Results:

Sport: Volleyball

Game: Clarkstown South @ Clarkstown North

Score: Clarkstown South Won 3-2

Highlights: After North won the first two sets South roared back to take three straight and win the match. Kianna and Taylor Carroll combined for 33 kills in the win and Jodie Salazar led the Vikings with 35 assists. In the loss Marie Guistino, Kerianne Lynch and Allison Amatuzzo each had double digit kills for the Rams.

 

Sport: Boy’s Soccer

Game: Clarkstown South @ Yorktown

Score: Clarkstown South Won 1-0 (2OT)

Highlights: It took until the second overtime but finally the Vikings were able to score a goal. Kevin Lowenwirth found Kurt Diffley for the header in the second extra session for the win. Aldair Gonzalez had 11 saves in the win.

 

Sport: Football

Game: Clarkstown South @ John Jay (EF)

Score: John Jay Won 25-7

Highlights: In a game without many Viking highlights Frank Tucek led the way as he nearly had another 100 yard game and he picked up the teams lone touchdown on a one yard run.

 

Sport: Girl’s Tennis 

Game: Section 1 Championships 

Score: Sapienza Won 7-5, 6-1

Highlights: Clarkstown South’s Lauren Sapienza beat Olivia Lacy Thompson of Briarcliff in the section’s third place match up at the Sound Shore Tennis Club in Port Chester.
