The South Orangetown Little League 9-10 all-star team lost 15-2 against Nanuet Tuesday in the Kayser-Brady Memorial Tournament.

It's South Orangetown's second loss in as many games so far in the tournament. South Orangetown has a chance to grab that first win today, however, as it faces off against Haverstraw.

Boulders’ Cuadrado swings away

Third baseman Phil Cuadrado of the Can-Am League Rockland Boulders had been named the Can-Am League hitter-of-the-week

A native of Carolina, Puerto Rico, had a big hand in leading the Boulders to an impressive string of seven wins in eight games, including a four-game sweep over the first place Quebec Capitales.

The switch-hitter batted .375 with three homers and eight RBI, including a two-homer performance in a 13-9 win over the New Jersey Jackals on July 12, followed by a homer in the top of the ninth the following night that proved to be the deciding run in a 3-2 victory.

Cuadrado is the second Boulder to take home weekly honors this season, joining Suffern native Ryan Mollica, who was honored for the period ending May 27.
