Remember to send in your results and pictures to see them in the Daily Sports Digest. Also, if you took photos/video of the your kids' games, share them by clicking on the "Upload your Photos & Videos" button under the photo.

Backed by a combined no-hitter, the New City-Suffern-Congers 9-10 softball all-stars won their first game of the state tournament in Syracuse on Thursday.

With the win, NCSC remains undefeated after running through the district and section tournaments without a loss.

On Thursday, NCSC beat Hollow Hills 2-0 thanks to strong pitching from Kaitlyn Fudge and Samantha Kaner. Fudge battled a fever during the game, but pitched the first four no-hit innings of the win. Fudge has pitched in six games for NCSC in tournament play and has yet to give up a run. Before Thursday she had already pitched two no-hitters in tournament play, including one last week in the Section 4 championship game.

The no-hitter was completed by Samantha Kaner, who shut Hollow Hills down for the final two innings. Kaner helped herself out on the offensive end, as well, going 2-3 with a triple and an RBI. Kristen Tarantino also went 2-3 with an RBI for NCSC’s other run.

NCSC will be back in action Saturday at 11 a.m. against an opponent yet to be determined.

West Nyack Improves To 3-0 In Memorial Tournament

The West Nyack  9-10 all-stars beat Pearl River 1-0 on Thursday in the Kayser-Brady Memorial Tournament. This pitchers duel saw West Nyack’s Sean Curran and Pearl River’s Nicholas Massaro and Brian Doherty trade scoreless innings until the fifth when West Nyack Michael Murray drove in Josh Kleinhandler for the game’s only run. Massaro pitched the first four for Pearl River and Doherty came in to start the fifth. The first batter reached on an error and Doherty followed that up by striking out the next two, but just couldn’t get out of the inning completely unscathed.

Pearl River tried to get a rally going in the bottom of the sixth, when Luke McGee led off with a single. The next, Brendan Flaherty, drove a hard hit liner toward second, where West Nyack’s Chris McCullagh caught it and threw to first in time for the double play.
