Majors All-Stars Win Two Over Weekend

The Nyack-Valley Cottage Little League Majors Division all-stars stayed alive in the District 18 tournament this weekend with two wins.

Nyack-Valley Cottage beat Pearl River 7-1 on Friday night to advance to the next round on Saturday against Suffern. Nyack-Valley Cottage won that game 11-8 and tonight faces Haverstraw at 6 p.m. at Veterans Park in Stony Point.

  • The 10-11 all-stars will look to stay in the District 18 tournament tonight when it faces Nanuet in the opening round of the loser’s bracket. Nyack-Valley Cottage dropped its first game of the tournament, an 8-7 loss to Suffern on Saturday.
  • The Nyack-Valley Cottage Juniors all-stars were eliminated from the district tournament over the weekend after losing 10-5 to New City on Sunday. Earlier in the tournament, Nyack-Valley Cottage lost 13-0 to Stony Point.
