Two teams from South Orangetown Middle School placed in a 22-team novice Metropolitan Debate League Tournament Saturday at The Garden School in Jackson Heights, NY.
The team of Brandon Guy, Ivan Jacobs and Kevin Huang placed second with three wins and one loss and the pairing of David Dunlop and Nykia Reyes was seventh with a pair of victories and a pair of losses. SOMS Library Media Specialist Patricia Eyer coaches the school's debate team.
"A heartfelt congratulations to the parents and team members for a job well done," Eyer said.
