Governor Cuomo is scheduled to deliver his State of the State Address on Wednesday, January 8, a group called No Common Sense Education is planning a media rally today to put pressure on the Governor so that he will address the failures in the education reform in New York, specifically Common Core.
This group’s prime focus is to have Governor Cuomo acknowledge the failure of Common Core in New York State and why he hasn’t spoken or addressed it.
Public protests will take place at local/regional television news stations across the state, which is hoping to get a unified message to the Governor that this is a prime issue for him to address.
The public protest will be a combination of parents, educators, administrators, and early childhood development experts. They will be outside of the TV news stations with signs, placards and bullhorns on Monday, January 6 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The group will rally in front of the News 12 Hudson Valley office at 235 West Nyack Road in West Nyack.
