Nyack Public Schools remained open despite the morning snowfall Tuesday, but the district is ready if it has to close due to weather.
The district built five snow days into the 2013-14 school calendar. If there are more than five closings before April recess, the district would hold make-up days Tuesday April 22, then Monday April 21.
More days off for the students could be created if the snow days are not used. First the district could have no school May 23. The next option would be to convert Thursday, May 22 into a second Superintendent's Conference Day, so there would be no classes.
