'Smarter, Bolder, Older': Women Redefining Life After 50

Women 50+ are invited to attend a one-day event, Smarter, Bolder, Older™:  Women Redefining Life After 50, on Sunday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the beautiful grounds of Marydell Faith and Life Center, 640 N. Midland Avenue, Upper Nyack, NY.

The day is dedicated to exploring questions such as, “What’s important to you at 50+ and how is it different than in previous years? What energizes and inspires you about growing older? What challenges you? What would you like to experience and create?  Dr. Maya Angelou says: “Here's the real question: What do we have to do to place more value on age? We have to value ourselves not for what we look like or the things we possess but for the women we are.”

Through sharing, networking, and movement this exciting and unique environment will foster creative conversations pertinent to this time in our lives. The event will also include giveaways and awards honoring women who have led inspiring lives into their 70’s and beyond. Whether you are new to your 50’s or moving along in your 80’s and beyond, this event will motivate you and provide a unique opportunity to gather with women and explore life beyond 50.

Enid Weishaus will lead an energizing conversation about aging.  Judith Rose, founder of Vital Movement™, will guide participants in a series of lyrical, organic movement patterns that explore power, purpose, and transformation. An art installation featuring images from Lisa Levart's upcoming book, Goddess on Earth, Portraits of the Divine Feminine (LUSH Press, July 2011) will be on display. Networking tables will be available for participants to display their business cards and other materials.

The cost for the all day event is $20.  In cooperation with the Rockland Community Foundation, proceeds from the event will go to the Foundation’s Women and Girl’s Fund.  Bring lunch or purchase food.
