Renewable Energy and Organic Farming Fair at Hook Mountain Growers

Public Event: Sunday September 12, 2010, 10am - 4pm, Renewable Energy and Organic Gardening Fair  in Nyack, NY
Hook Mountain Growers and Alteris Renewables are hosting an event that is part of the 11th annual Hudson River Valley Ramble!
Stop by for informative discussions about organic gardening and farming at a working micro-farm in Nyack, September 12, 2010, from 10am - 4pm.  Informal talks will be given throughout the day.
Come meet Alteris Renewables team members to learn about home solar power and other forms of renewable energy and to view a solar electric system in close proximity.
In October 2009, Alteris Renewables installed a 4.8kW photovoltaic rooftop system that produces 5,540 kWh annually and offsets 52% of their electrical needs. Other "green features" at the micro-farm include a salt water swimming pool, use of greenhouse heat to heat the house and use of normal geothermal energy to keep the greenhouse heated with minimal energy usage, rain catchers, and permaculture landscaping principles.
