Lower Hud's Comedy Workshops

NYACK VILLAGE THEATRE HOSTS LOWER HUD’S COMEDY SCHOOL

Beginning October 24th, the Nyack Village Theatre will be the official location of Lower Hud’s Comedy School, offering comedy classes for those who are interested in the craft of comedy in the Lower Hudson Valley.

The school will kick off its curriculum with a “Beginner Stand-Up Comedy Workshop,” as a follow-up to the success of this summer’s inaugural Lower Hud’s Funniest Comedy Contest.  The class will teach newcomers the art of stand-up comedy and offer them performance opportunities at the Nyack Village Theatre.  The class is open to both adults and teens.

Peggy Boyce is the Founder and Creative Director of Lower Hud’s Comedy School.  For over 20 years she has been involved in comedy; first as a comedian, then as a producer, talent booker, teacher, agent and publicist.  Peggy has produced hundreds of comedy shows at major comedy clubs and casinos, including Stand-Up New York, The Improv, Caesar’s Casino and Madison Square Garden. In addition to being a talent agent at Admire Entertainment, Boyce is the Creator/Executive Producer of Lower Hud’s Funniest Contest and Ladies of Laughter.

“There are so many wonderfully talented people living in the lower Hudson Valley who can now take advantage of a New York City quality comedy school without making a large investment.  Now you don’t have to drive into Manhattan to learn the craft,” said Boyce.
