Poem: A Child... This Be Known

...the blessings of a child...

A Child

a child is not born with sword in hand nor malice in heart
the glory of breath BE its blessed start
tender be its touch, loving be its grace
ever be its questing, reverent be its place
shadow not by doubt, judgment, reprisal and fear
let the gift of life be held beyond each tear
know what time and space is ordained to give
the SELF in Peace eternally to live.

Rose Marie Raccioppi

Song of the Angels, 1881, Oil on canvas, Adolphe-William Bouguereau, 1825-1905, Museum at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, Glendale, California.
