Tonight: Nyack to Vote on Superblock's Next Step

Village may reach out to developers

Tonight could be a major step forward for , an initiative that aims to overhaul the village's downtown with new residential, commercial and cultural space.

Village official are set to vote on a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI), a document intended to touch base with possible developers. Developers would then let the village know if they are interested in tackling the project, and present their own ideas for carrying out the overhaul.

The vote is slated for 7 p.m. at . Developers' responses are expected by mid-July.

In April, the village , a partnership that entails both entities working together to renovate the 3.7 acres downtown. Prior, Nyack worked alongside HR&A, a consulting company, to map out ; they ranged from a minimal $360,000 face-lift to a massive $66.9 million revamp.
