Thursday Meeting: Nyack Parking, Budget

Lawmakers to hold legislative meeting Thursday night

Nyack lawmakers will head to Thursday evening to discuss a parking overhaul downtown, look at upcoming property taxes and more.

Mayor Jen Laird-White's proposed parking revamp will be the centerpiece of the pre-board meeting workshop slated from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The plan aims to shift the paid parking times in the village; meters would be in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Laird-White said it's not a revenue raising measure, but rather an attemp to make the village more friendly to residents and visitors. Read more about the proposal .

Village trustees will also comb through , a fiscal document that would raise homeowners' taxes by less than one percent. The tentative budget—created by the village administrator and treasurer—includes no employees raises or layoffs.

The board meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m.
