  • The groundbreaking for will be held Saturday, June 4 at 2 p.m. on corner of Franklin and Main Street.
  • Nyack will likely move ahead with the Polhemus Project, a paving initiative that will resurface Polhemus Street. "It's by far the worst street in Nyack, and in desperate need of repaving," said mayor Richard Kavesh. A $90,000 grant from the State Department of Transportation is expected to clear in coming weeks. "It's long overdue and very much welcome," Kavesh added.
  • Nyack Hospital has essentially recouped its old zoning status; now, the hospital can move ahead with planned improvements. Read about the backstory and previous debates .
  • The village is still hammering out a law for how special events—like street fairs—will be paid for. The general idea is that Nyack will not charge for the event, but the organization holding the event will cover DPW and administrative costs. There will be a public hearing on the subject June 23 at 8 p.m.
  • Village officials noted three tickets were given out at last month's street fair: one for bringing a dog onto the premises, one for public urination and one for yelling.
