Cornell Defeats Kleinhandler, Wins District 10

Democrat Cornell beats Republican opponent

The race for legislative district 10—which encompasses Nyack, Upper Nyack, Valley Cottage and other parts of Clarkstown—is complete, and Democrat Harriet Cornell has nabbed the position.

Cornell defeated York Kleinhandler (Republican, Conservative, Independence and Working Families) handily, securing almost 65 percent of the vote. Cornell had 2,271 votes to her name; Kleinhandler, 1,240.

There were no write-in candidates.
