Overnight Work Brings Delays on Thruway

Thruway affected from Suffern to Harriman.

Road work on the New York State Thruway tonight will bring delays for overnight travelers from Suffern to Harriman, according to the New York State Thruway Authority.

Traffic patterns will shift on the northbound Thruway from Exit 15A to Exit 16 from 11:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. Thursday. To accomodate the lane shifts, traffic will be stopped at intervals throughout the night, causing delays expected to last no more than 20 minutes.

Electronic sign boards on the Thruway have been set up to advise motorists about the road work and delays.

I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.
