UPDATE: Nyack Approves 'Twisted' TV Shoot

The diner Johnny Cakes may be on Main St. in Nyack, but it also resides in the fictional town of Green Grove and as a replica in Los Angeles.

Johnny Cakes is a primary location in the ABC Family series "Twisted," which shot part of its pilot in Nyack. Series location manager Stuart Nicolai spoke with the Nyack Village Trustees Thursday about a potential return to Nyack next week.

The Nyack Village Board voted Thursday to approve the shoot between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday, primarily on Main St. in Nyack, though that was based on the current shooting plan, which also includes filming in South Nyack earlier in the morning.

The director of the episode was in Nyack today to finalize plans and confirmed that it would be a smaller shoot than the one for the pilot. Nyack Village Clerk Mary White said shooting in Nyack will begin between 10 and 11 a.m. at Runcible Spoon. They will be there until approximately 2 p.m., when shooting will shift over to Main Street in and around Johnny Cakes from 2 p.m. to around 8 p.m.

This will impact parking in the following places:

• One block and a half on Broadway near Runcible Spoon.
• South side of Main Street from Cedar Street to Broadway.
• Main Street from Johnny Cakes to Woolworth's.
• Both sides of Cedar Street.
• Ten parking spots behind Riverspace (No space in the municipal lots will be taken.)
• Five or six spots on Church Street.

Nicolai said this shoot would be much smaller than the previous one. Store owners and residents in the areas where shooting will take place would be notified by Sunday. 

"Twisted" is a mystery about 16-year-old teen Danny Desai, played by Avan Jogia ("Victorious"), who becomes a murder suspect shortly after reconnecting with two childhood female friends. The most famous face in the cast is actress Denise Richards, who plays Karen Desai. 

"Twisted is set to premiere June 11.
