Nyack, Piermont Saw Lower Voter Turnout

2011's Election Day saw fewer voters than 2009 races

Tuesday's elections had decisive outcomes—like a , and Orangetown's supervisor position —but less people turned out than in years past.

Some 1,404 Nyackers cast votes in this year's mayoral race, 91 fewer than the 2009 mayoral race. That translates into a six percent decrease in voter turnout.

Piermont's circumstances were markedly different——but the river village still saw less crowded polls. This time around, voting decreased by 5.5 percent.
