Nyack Main Street Sees Power Washing for Gum Stains (VIDEO)

Washing to be done on a 'as needed' basis.

Nyack village employees are power washing Main Street in Nyack between Broadway and Franklin Avenue this Friday, according to Nyack Village Clerk Mary White.

"There are multiple gum stains," she said. "We'll be power washing the notorious areas—for the most part, in front of the bars. [It's] pretty much going to be on an 'as needed' basis."

Why dont the bars clean their own sidewalks. As you walk down mainstreet most of the gumstains are in front of the pour house.

Who pays for the water?

Is there a receptacle there to prevent future scofflaws? I mean, who throws gum on sidewalk where people would step on it??? Just another reason to get police out of their cars, and walk the beat; thus enforcing such petty crimes.
