Cuomo Endorses Laird-White for Mayor

NY politician throws support behind challenger Laird-White

Current Nyack trustee and mayoral hopeful Jen Laird-White has garnered the support of a major political player. Yesterday, NY Governor Andrew Cuomo expressed his support for Laird-White and her campaign.

"I am endorsing Jen Laird White as the next Mayor of Nyack because of her vision and commitment to improving the quality of life for all residents in the community," Cuomo said. "I am delighted that she has taken her extraordinary skills into public service."

Laird-White responded to Cuomo's blessing in a press release. "I am honored to receive Governor’s Cuomo’s endorsement," she said. "I look forward to working with the Governor to advance the interests of the Village of Nyack."

Laird-White will be running on the Democratic ticket, a spot she earned after in the September primary. The two will face off again in November, with Kavesh running on the Independence, Working Families and Preserve Nyack party lines.

She has noted she hopes to tackle if elected are lessened reliance on parking revenue and a quieter downtown on weekend nights.
