Motorists are advised that the New York State Department of Transportation will be conducting various lane and ramp closures, on westbound I-84, Monday, Oct. 10 through Friday, Oct. 14 for paving activities in Orange County in the Town of Montgomery and Town of Newburgh.
Alternating lane and ramp closures will occur between Exit 5 (NY 208) and Exit 6 (NY 17K) during the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, weather permitting.
Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the work area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including work zone signs and flaggers.
Travelers are also reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
