Election day details:

  • Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Polls are at Depew Manor, Hilltop, Upper Nyack and Valley Cottage schools.
  • Three at-large trustee positions will appear on the ballot currently held by Don Hammond, Claudette Jimerson and Thomas LaColla. They are for three-year terms from 7/1/2011 through 6/30/2014. Candidates in Nyack are elected at-large, meaning a person does not run for a particular seat; rather, candidates receiving the most votes fill the positions open. In addition, from 5/18/2011 through 6/30/2011, the highest non-incumbent vote getter will assume the trustee position currently held by Dr. Hammond, since the law requires that he/she take over the remainder of the vacant term to which Dr. Hammond was appointed earlier this year.
