Clarkstown OKs Shops at Nanuet Street Names

The streets will be "Market Street" and "Fashion Drive"

With the construction visually coming along, the Shops at Nanuet is slated to open October 2013 just in time for the shopping season.

Owner Simon Properties, Inc. has proposed that the private roads within the Shops at Nanuet be named “Market Street” and “Fashion Drive” as set forth on the attached map

Earlier this month, Clarkstown passed a resolution authorizing the changing of the street names.

The town has no objection to the street names proposed on the map and resolved that Wayne Ballard, superintendent of highways, “make appropriate changes in the street signs as may be necessary," according to Clarkstown's resolution, which is also attached to this Patch article.

This resolution went into effect immediately on March 5.

On the map, it shows that 24 Hour Fitness and Regal Cinemas will be located in the upper level of the shopping strip that connects Macy's and Sears. The new street names changes the addresses of most of the establishments that are expected to fill the Shops at Nanuet. On the map, it shows that TD Bank will be located at 104 Market Street East.

Correction: the opening date is in 2013 not 2014

I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.
