Valley Cottage Man Accused of DWI In Nyack

Car stopped on Main Street in early-morning hours.

A Valley Cottage man is accused of drunken driving after he was spotted driving erratically on Main Street in Nyack, according to Orangetown police.

Police said Jesse W. Barbalato, 23, of 54 Sedge Road, was stopped at about 3:40 a.m. Saturday after a 1994 Toyota Corolla he was driving on Main Street crossed over the double yellow lane markers. Police said Barbalato failed a field sobriety test and was taken to Orangetown Police Headquarters in Orangeburg, where he failed a chemical breath test for alcohol.

Barbalato was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and released to a family member pending a Sept. 27 hearing in Nyack Justice Court.
