South Nyack: Police Nab Possible Car Burglars

Youths from Central Nyack accused of stealing items from South Nyack vehicle

have nabbed individuals they believe to be responsible for breaking into a handful of South Nyack cars and stealing valuables stashed inside.

A group of teenagers from Central Nyack have been arrested and charged with the crime, which occurred last week. GPS equipment, iPods, change and small bills were all swiped; police have returned most of the stolen property.

Police chief Robert Van Cura said car larcenies are more common in the summer months. "Young kids are out of school, looking for easy way to make money," he explained.
