A South Nyack man living on Cedar Hill Avenue is due in village court Feb. 6 on charges of robbery, assault and strangulation in the second degree.
The alleged crime is linked to a domestic abuse call received on Jan. 8. Authorities arrived at the home to investigate.
"The allegations are that he tried to smother the woman with a pillow," explained Robert Van Cura, South Nyack-Grand View's police chief.

An apartment in a multi-family home was broken into, police said, and cash and jewelry were reported stolen.
Police do not know if the theft is connected to a . "It doesn't necessarily appear that they're [linked]," said South Nyack-Grand View police chief Robert Van Cura.
