Nyack: Report of Gas Smell Closes N. Broadway

O&R: No problem found

A report from a Nyack resident of an odor of gas prompted an emergency shut down of North Broadway at Second Avenue today as a precaution.

Nyack Mayor Jen White said Orange and Rockland Utilities crews, Orangetown police and Nyack Fire Department members checked buildings in the area in response to the report, which was in the area of the on-going gas main replacement project in Nyack.

O&R said gas readings were taken in a manhole and adjacent buildings and the area was found to be safe.
