Police: VA Man Had Illegal High-Capacity Clip For a Gun

Driver arrested after being stopped for not wearing his seat belt.

A Virginia man stopped by Clarkstown police Saturday for not wearing his seat belt is facing a weapons charge for a having a high-capacity ammunition clip for a gun in his car.

Anthony Berry, 25, of Chesterfield, VA, is being held at Clarkstown Police Headquarters in New City awaiting arraignment on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon/large capacity feed device, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Police said Berry was stopped about 2:25 p.m. on Lawrence Street in Nanuet when a town officer saw that Berry was not wearing a seat belt.

Although such weapons clips are legal in other states, they are illegal in New York.
