Police: Tip Leads To Drunken Driving Arrest On Route 303

New Jersey man stopped for driving erratically.

A New Jersey man seen driving erratically on Route 303 in Valley Cottage has been charged with drunken driving, according to Clarkstown police.

Kevin Murphy, 37, of Oakland, NJ, was stopped at 4:15 p.m. Monday after police received a complaint about a possible drunken driver from the public. A description of the car was broadcast over police radio, leading to a town officer stopping Murphy.

Police said that when Murphy was stopped he failed a field sobriety test and later at police headquarters in New City he refused to take a chemical breath test for alcohol.
