Police: Stun Gun Arrest Tied to Drugs

Man led police on 12-mile chase Thursday

A man who was arrested in Nyack Thursday——has been hit with drug, traffic and weapon charges.

Henry Clayton, a 44-year-old man from Ulster County, skipped out on a Thruway toll in Yonkers at around 10 a.m. Thursday morning. When he failed to pull over, police gave chase.

The chase culminated at Thruway exit 11 in Nyack, where police were able to box him in. In the process, Clayton struck two squad cars. Clayton experienced minor injuries; no one else was hurt. Clayton was later treated at Hospital.

Police had to smash though Clayton's passenger-side window and utilize a stun gun to bring him under control, authorities said.

Clayton has been charged with driving while impaired by drugs, reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal mischief, menacing a police officer, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful fleeing from police and resisting arrest and several traffic violations.

Clayton is being held in Rockland County Jail without bail, and will appear in court today.
