Police: Night Jogging Dangerous

Pedestrians must exercise caution on Piermont streets, authorities say

Piermont's snaky roads and steep inclines are dangerous enough as is for joggers and —but with daylight growing shorter, are urging pedestrians to stay safe if using local streets at night.

"Take precaution," advised Michael O'Shea, Piermont's chief of police. "Wear a vest, carry a flashlight. And don't wear dark clothing."

O'Shea also noted pedestrians should be aware of the time of day—with Daylight Savings less than a month away, daylight hours will shrink further.
