Police: N.C. Man Charged WIth DWI in Bar Parking Lot

He's ordered held in county jail.

A North Carolina man is charged with drunken driving after he was stopped by police officers in the parking lot of Blauvelt bar, according to Orangetown police.

Brian McCollum, 32, of Kernersville, NC, a carnival worker, was stopped by police at 3:04 a.m. in the lot of the Backstreet Bar, 545 Western Highway, as they were investigating a complaint of a disorderly person who might have a gun. Police said McCollum was found to be intoxicated and he was arrested.

No weapon was discovered during the investigation, police said.

McCollum was taken to Orangetown police headquarters in Orangeburg and later arraigned in Town Court. McCollum was ordered held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City on $2,500 bail pending a court hearing.
