A man brandishing a handgun robbed a woman of $20 in downtown Nyack early Tuesday morning, said.
The man approached a woman sitting in her car in a parking lot off Main Street at about 12:06 a.m. and demanded money while holding the gun, authorities said.
"The suspect got $20 from the victim and fled towards Gedney Street," said Det. Lt. Jim Brown.
The suspect is described as a white male, or possible light-skinned Hispanic, standing about 5'8" and of medium build. He was dressed in a dark hooded sweatshirt and had a dark bandanna or cloth covering his face, Brown said.
Police canvassed the area with a K-9 unit from Bergen County Police following the incident, but could not locate the suspect.
People who witnessed the robbery, or have information about it, are urged to call the Orangetown Police Detective Bureau at (845) 359-2121.
