Piermont Police Investigate Tuesday Shooting

Man was shot in the chest; multiple police departments investigating

A shooting in Piermont Tuesday night—which left a Rockland man with a chest wound—has teaming up with and to investigate, authorities said this morning.

Police have not released the victim's identity, or where the shooting took place. The Rockland County's Sheriff Office is also aiding in the investigation effort.

"Our crime scene unit was called out, and we processed the scene at Nyack Hospital," said John Murphy, a sergeant with the Sheriff's Department.

The victim drove himself to after being shot, where emergency room workers called the police, according to published reports.

Murphy said crime scene photographers then took pictures at a handful of other locations throughout Orangetown.
