Police: Hastings Student's Gym Bag had a ‘Decent Amount of Marijuana’

Police said additional arrests are likely in connection with the incident.

A 17-year old male student at Hastings High School is being charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after an investigation following an incident that occurred on Dec. 6, Hastings-on-Hudson police said.

Police said the student left a gym bag with “a decent amount of marijuana in it” in the high school’s gym lobby. Hastings-on-Hudson Principle Louis Adipietro notified police of the discovery on Dec. 9.

It is unknown at this time if the student had an intent of distribution, and whether or not the bag was left behind to be picked up by someone else. Police said the investigation is ongoing and that, given the amount of marijuana found in the gym bag, "additional arrests are likely."
