Police: Early-Morning Loud Music, Confrontation Lead to Arrest

Gym owner cited for disorderly conduct, noise violation

A 42-year-old Congers businessman has been charged with disorderly conduct and issued a noise violation after a confrontation with a police officer over loud music coming from a gym at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to Clarkstown police.

A town police officer on patrol heard loud music on Lake Road in Congers and looked for the source of the noise. While at Clemente’s Martial Arts Academy and Fitness Center, 57 Lake Road, police said the officer found a large, 300 watt amplifier set to full volume and facing outward from the gym.

At the same time, town police said they were receiving numerous calls from the Lake Road area complaining about the loud music.

The officer entered the gym, could not find anyone and then disconnected an iPod that was feeding music to the amplifier. Police said that’s when Peter Clemente, 42, of Congers entered the gym through a rear door and verbally confronted the police officer.

Town police said Clemente then went into the parking lot and was screaming obscenities. Police said Clemente was warned twice to stop yelling — with his behavior alarming nearby joggers and walkers — and then he was arrested and taken to Clarkstown police headquarters in New City.

He was cited for disorderly conduct and for prohibited noise, a town ordinance violation. Clemente was released pending an Aug. 13 hearing in Town Court.

Correction: Upon Clemente's request, his comment has been removed

Yes, Police Officers are our masters. We cannot disagree or offend them or speak to them. That is blasphemy! When you see an officer immediately avert your eyes and grovel. Pray to be arrested and placed in holy custody. The Fourth Amendment is the work of the devil.

This article is only giving one side of the story. Remember that we shouldn't believe everything that we read and people are innocent until proven guilty.

He claims that animals are a gift from God. Too bad his words are all shallow and meaningless. Talk is cheap and the hypocrisy just flows like a river.
