Police: Baked Goodies Laced with Pot Found in Car After Accident

Three NYC residents hit with drug charges on I-84.

Three New York City residents were hit with drug charges after an accident on the Interstate-84 which led to the discovery of drugs and baked goods laced with marijuana, according to State Police.

The arrest stem from the investigation of a one-car accident on I-84 at about 6:40 p.m.. on Thursday in the Town of Montgomery in Orange County. State troopers said they discovered a quantity of cocaine, marijuana, klonazepam and several items of baked goods that were laced with marijuana found in the vehicle driven by Alexandra Connolly, 20. 

Connolly and her passengers, Alexander Bates, 20, and Brittany Yu, 19, all from Manhattan, were charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana. Connolly was also charged with the seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and several traffic violations.

All three were arraigned by Montgomery Town Justice Harry Mills and ordered held in the Orange County jail on $1,000 bail pending a March 20 hearing in Town of Montgomery Court.

I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.
