Police: 2 Accused Of DWI In Nyack, New City

Cars stopped by Sheriff's deputies on Route 59, Route 304.

A Spring Valley man and a New Jersey woman have been charged with drunken driving in separate incidents early Sunday in Nyack and New City, according to the Rockland County Sheriff's Department.

- Maxine Basch, 22, of Tenafly, NJ, was stopped at 2:40 a.m. when she was spotted driving erratically on Route 59 in Nyack, police said. She was found to be intoxicated and was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and released pending a Dec. 27 hearing in Nyack Village Court, police said.

- Marcel Allen, 27, of Spring Valley, was stopped at 1:45 a.m. when he was spotted driving erratically on Route 304 in New City, police said. Allen was found to be intoxicated and was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and was released pending a Dec. 19 hearing in Clarkstown Town Court in New City.
