Piermont Police: Lock Your Doors

Piermont Police are asking residents to lock their doors, even if they leave their homes for only a short time.

Piermont Police recently reviewed their records of burglaries in town and came away with a reminder for residents -- always be sure to lock your doors when you leave home.

"The one thing we want to get out there is we want people to secure their homes when they go out," Piermont Police Chief Michael O'Shea said. "The majority of burglaries that occur (the perpetrators enter) through open doors. If people go out for 15 minutes, they need to lock their doors."

O'Shea also mentioned the importance of residents calling in suspicious vehicles or people.
