Piermont Police Charge DWI, Illegal Trucking

A recap of recent police incidents

A man was found slumped over his steering wheel and intoxicated Sunday night on Highland Avenue, said.

Officers discovered the vehicle at 11:18 p.m., and learned the driver was drunk, said Michael O'Shea, Piermont's chief of police.

The motorist, a 37-year-old man from Old Tappan, NJ, refused a breathalyzer test, was charged with driving while intoxicated and is due in village court Feb. 22.

A North Carolinian man parked illegally on Ferry Road Wednesday, Piermont Police said—and after an investigation, authorities learned the 65-year-old man was also driving with a suspended license.

The man was issued a court summons.

A trucker driving a vehicle over Piermont's 10-ton weight limit was stopped by village police on Jan. 30, O'Shea said.

The driver, a 52-year-old man from East Orange, NJ, was issued traffic tickets and is due in village court Feb. 22.
