Peekskill Woman Charged with DWI in Nyack

Police: Car stopped on Route 59 for traffic violations.

A Peekskill woman stopped by police for driving erratically on Route 59 in Nyack has been charged with drunken driving, according to Orangetown police.

Nancy Edwards, 49, of Peekskill was stopped by a town officer at 1:55 a.m. Sunday for a traffic violation as she was driving a 1998 Honda Accord. Police said Edwards appeared intoxicated when she was questioned and she failed field sobriety tests.

Police said Edwards was taken to Orangetown Police Headquarters in Orangeburg and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. She was later released pending a Feb. 26 hearing in Nyack Village Court.
