Pearl River Driver Charged With DWI After Hitting Parked Car On Main Street

Both cars have extensive damage; no one injured.

A Pearl River man is charged with drunken driving after crashing into a parked car on Main Street in Nyack, according to .

Joseph A. Brancatelli Jr., 46, of 8 Evergreen Lane, was arrested after the 6:55 p.m. incident in front of 230 Main St. Both the 2009 Honda CRV driven by Brancatelli and the parked car were extensively damaged in the crash, police said.

No one was injured.

Police said Brancatelli failed a field sobriety test and told town officiers he had been drinking vodka before the accident. Brancatelli was taken to Orangetown police headquarters in Orangeburg, where he failed a chemical breath test for alcohol, police said.

Brancatelli was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and later released to a family member pending a Feb. 2 hearing in Nyack Village Court.
