Orangetown Police Officer Hurt In Accident On Route 303

Three cars involved in crash; cop, one other driver taken to Nyack Hospital for treatment

A police officer was injured in a car accident Friday morning on Route 303 in Orangeburg, according to .

The officer, who has not been identified, was driving southbound on Route 303 at 11:55 a.m. when an SUV turned in front on him at Stephen's Way and the two vehicles collided. The SUV hit a third vehicle stopped at a traffic light, police said.

The police officer sustained an arm injury and the driver of the SUV complained of chest pain. The third driver was not injured.

The police officer and the injured driver were taken to for treatment.

The accident is under investigation by the Orangetown Accident Investigation Team. Police ask that anyone who may have witnessed this accident call Orangetown Police at 845-359-3700.
